Dynamic Multi priority scheduling
When a surgeon books a case on the On-Time system he/she enters a wait time target. This starts a timeline for the case on the On-Time computer and this timeline is inter collated with all of the other timelines that are already on the list.
By comparing these timelines the On-Time computer is able to build a representation of the emergency wait list using a simple algorithm. This wait list acts as a decision support tool for the operating room management by helping them to decide which case should go to the operating room next.
If a case goes beyond its wait time target the On-Time system continues to measure this as “overdue case” time. Overdue case time is recorded in red and is weighted at a different rate depending on the urgency level of the case involved. A class one emergency will accrue overdue case time at a rate that is two times greater than a class two case. Overdue case time is a unique metric that is used to optimize the allocation of surgical resources.
